Robert Forster: l’attore di Breaking Bad morto a 78 anni

Robert Forster, candidato all’Oscar per Jackie Brown nel 1997 e che ha ripreso il ruolo in Breaking Bad nel film di El Camino, appena uscito, è morto venerdì a seguito di una battaglia contro il cancro al cervello. Aveva 78 anni.

Dopo aver iniziato la sua carriera con ruoli in film come Reflections in a Golden Eye con Elizabeth Taylor e Marlon Brando e Medium COOL, Robert Forster ha diretto un paio di serie TV di breve durata, Banyon della NBC e poi Nakia della ABC.

Dopo una serie di parti uniche in spettacoli come Police Story, Magnum, P.I. e Walker, Texas Ranger, Forster hanno ottenuto il ruolo del custode Max Cherry nel film Jackie Brown di Quentin Tarantino, per il quale ha ottenuto una nomination all’Oscar come miglior attore non protagonista.

Anni dopo, Forster ha recitato con Karen Sisco e Carla Gugino nella serie di breve durata della ABC basata sul personaggio di Elmore Leonard.

Ha continuato a partecipare di serie di sucesso come Heroes, Alcatraz, Divorce e il revival di Twin Peaks dove è stato una sorta di sostituto dello sceriffo Harry Truman di Michael Ontkean, nel ruolo del fratello lo Sceriffo Frank Truman.

La sua apparizione televisiva più recente è stata in un episodio di Last Man Standing dell’ottobre 2018, in cui ha ripreso il suo ruolo di Bud, il defunto padre di Mike Baxter.

In Breaking Bad, Robert Forster ha interpretato il ruolo dell’enigmatico Ed aka The Disappearer, ruolo che ha ripreso per il film sequel El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (uscito l’11 ottobre).

I suoi rimanenti progetti non conclusi includono un ruolo nelle Amazing Stories per Apple TV +.
