I fan di Shadowhunters sono furiosi con Freeform per averli presi in giro riguardo la cancellazione della serie durante uno spezzone di Toy Story.
A giugno, si era detto che la serie sarebbe stata cancellata dopo la terza stagione per via di ragioni economiche, anche se era già stato ordinato un finale appropriato. A quel punto i fan, devastati, hanno organizzato una campagna su Kickstarter chiamata #SaveShadowhunters per salvare la serie, raggiungendo $18k per il Trevor Project.
In ogni caso, la serie non è stata salvata.

L’incidente avrebbe avuto luogo sabato sera, quando (15 dicembre) Freeform ha fatto andare in onda Toy Story.
In una scena del film, Woody scuote la Magica Palla 8 e si rivela su di essa la scritta Non ci contare, mentre sullo schermo appare la domanda Freeform salverà Shadowhunters se continuo a scrivere dei tweet al riguardo?

La produzione dice che tutto ciò è stato un errore. Freeform ha preferito non commentare.
